About CRBA BOD

The Cinnamon Rabbit Breeders Association Board of Directors is available to our membership and others to assist in the promoting of the Cinnamon rabbit breed.

Meet our 2010 BOD:

President, Marian Brown Marian Brown
BIS - Special Exhibit/Rare Breed
We have had Cinnamons in our rabbitry since 2005 when my daughter had a pair brought back from ARBA Convention. At that time they were quite a rarity in the Northwest. These were are first experience with the larger meat breeds. To that point our focus was on Mini Lops and Mini Rex.

I have been active in 4-H for over ten years serving as Project Leader, Main Club Leader, Rabbit Barn Superintendent and currently a Resource Leader. I am active in ARBA and am serving my third term as Vice President of the Mini Rex Fanciers of the Greater Northwest. I am the webmaster for the CRBA and MRFGNW.

My goal for the CRBA for this upcoming year is to help the club get back on track and promote Cinnamons throughout the US and Canada.

Director Frank Gale

Frank Gale of Iowa has been showing rabbits for over 22 years.
Like many rabbit breeders, Frank first  rabbits (English Spots)  for his oldest daughter 4-H project. As the number of cages were expanded, Frank followed his daughter’s path and started to show spots.

After all of these years, the spots still holds a special place in his rabbitry. His spots have won several BIS, including a BIS at the Iowa State Convention where over 2,000 rabbits were shown. Presently, he also has Rhinelanders, (which are shown by his youngest daughter), Himalayans, (shown by his granddaughter), a few Flemish giants, (which are used for the largest rabbit contest at the Iowa State Fair) and Cinnamons, (which are shown by Frank, his son and grandson).

The Gale’s started showing Cinnamons due to influence of a very close friend, Elbert Weakland. Elbert was very active in the Cinnamon club and felt that Frank just needed to have a few Cinnamons to show. Due to Elbert’s love of the Cinnamon rabbit, Frank has continued to show the Cinnamons out of remembrance of Elbert.

Frank and his wife Judy have been married for 42 years and have three children, Angie, Brandon and Tiffany. He is a special education teacher at a behavior disorder school in Des Moines, Iowa. He is a member of the Rhinelander Rabbit Club (presently a director), the English Spot club, the Iowa State Rabbit Club and of course the Cinnamon Rabbit Club. They live in Creston, Iowa.

Director Candy Hankins, WI My interest in Cinnamons goes back a long way as you all know, but the reason I decided to run for director this year was to pass along all those years of experience to some of our enthusiastic new breeders.  I don't show at this time because my current passion is driving ponies, but I suspect my interest in rabbits will move to the front again in the next few years. I do plan to attend the convention this year, and I hope that we can plan a productive annual meeting. I've had a lot of fun over the years with rabbits and now I would like to be available as a problem solver, promoter, and cheerleader for the club so we can continue to promote our this special breed.
